Plan to learn at this level for a minimum of four sessions, each time you'll learn something new & a different choreography each session
Bellydance Drills (level II & up) ~ Open for registration or drop-in ($12) to all students with 6 months experience. This class is perfect for people who just want to move and have fun instead of progressing through levels or learning choreography. But itıs also perfect for students from all levels who want to clean up their technique before advancing or want to dance more than once a week.
Bellydance II ~ You may learn a drum solo, explore an Egyptian folk style, dance to pop music or learn rhythms and finger cymbals. Requires three sessions of Bellydance I, no special equipment but you may find a hip scarf and/or ballet slippers helpful. Plan to learn at this level for at least four sessions.
Bellydance IIIa: Traditional ~ In this class we explore traditional styles of dance. You may learn an Egyptian cane choreography, American veilwork, sword balancing or explore the difference between Egyptian Balady and Raks Sharki styles. We'll build on the steps learned in Bellydance II and add some layering, traveling shimmies, and three-dimensional hipwork. Requires four sessions of Bellydance II. Depending on the choreography, you may want a cane or veil to practice with.
Bellydance IVa: Choreography ~ This class works on more complex layering and interaction with the music. We study dance forms from different nations, including those grounded in folklore and choreographies performed by the Repertory Class. Includes layering, spins, floorwork, balancing, finger cymbals and rhythm recognition. Requires four sessions of Bellydance III. Some choreographies will require special props, we make every effort to keep this affordable. This class performs in student shows and at haflas and workshop shows.
Bellydance: Advanced Solo Skills Open for registration or drop-in ($12) to all serious bellydance students (my students, levels 3 and up, or dancers with one year of study or more). We'll cover technique, musical interpretation, improvisation, and movement vocabulary for solo dance expression. Topics include traveling steps, turns and spins, layering, musical interpretation, emotional content, props, and rhythms.
Bellydance IVc: Repertory Group ~ This class time is set aside for performing students to keep their choreographies polished and ready for public performance. This group will be performing for the general public and will occasionally need to acquire special costume pieces or props for group work. Requires four sessions of IVa: Choreography AND MUST be concurrently enrolled in another Level IV class.

seniors who are losing strength, mobility and balance
Students with chronic lower back pain
Cancer patients
I will work with each student to accommodate any special needs.
Yoga: All Levels ~ Stretching, strengthening, balance and flexibility. Each class or session may have a special focus, such as working on a flow series, learning about the action of the legs in standing poses, backbending, arm or abdominal strength, etc. Most classes include sun salutations, seated or reclining stretches and strenghthening poses, standing poses and balances. We end with gentle stretches and relaxation pose. Aaaah...
